Hibachi at Home FAQ
Everything you need to know before booking a private hibachi chef in Connecticut.
How does hibachi at home work?
We bring the chef, the hibachi grill and cooking gear, and all the food. Your chef sets up at your home or venue and cooks a live hibachi dinner in front of your guests. Each guest receives a side salad, hibachi vegetables, fried rice and their choice of proteins.
How much does hibachi at home cost in Connecticut?
$50 per adult (pick 2 proteins) and $30 per child under 13 (pick 1 protein). There is a $500 minimum for all parties. Prices may vary depending on location.
Is there a travel fee?
No. There is no travel fee for hibachi services within Connecticut.
What do I need to prepare?
Provide tables and chairs for your party, positioned around where the chef will set up to cook. Please also provide eating utensils, plates, bowls for salad, and drinks for your guests.
What proteins can we choose?
Chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon or tofu. Upgrades are available: filet mignon (+$5), scallops (+$5) and lobster (+$10). A third protein is $10, filet $15 and lobster $20, and noodles can be added for $5 per order.
Do you have vegetarian options?
Yes. Tofu is one of the standard protein choices, and every plate includes hibachi vegetables, salad and fried rice. Vegetable gyoza and edamame are available as sides. Let us know about any dietary needs when you book.
Can the chef cook indoors or in the rain?
Yes. We can cook inside or outside, including in the park or by the sea. Our service is available regardless of the weather, provided there is a dry, covered area for the chef to cook under.
Do you offer a buffet for large groups?
For groups of 50 or more, we offer a buffet-style option at $35 per person, which comes with chicken, steak, shrimp, mixed vegetables and fried rice. Call or text us for details.
How do we pay?
Payment is cash only.
Do you have any promotions?
Yes. With code FREEBIRTHDAY the birthday host eats free (ID required; host only). With code HAPPY15, parties of 15+ adults get 10% off on Friday and Sunday. Offers cannot be combined.
Do you serve outside Connecticut?
Happy Hibachi also serves neighboring states such as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey. Travel fees and prices may vary by location, so call or text us for availability.
